The BOX-WIN project
The eutrophication of the Baltic can be eliminated in ten years using large-scale oxygenation of anoxic bottoms.
Baltic Sea Restoration presents the BOX-WIN project — a research effort led by Professor Anders Stigebrandt to revive the dead zones of the Baltic Sea. The method pumps oxygen-saturated winter water from above the halocline down into the anoxic deepwater, restoring oxygen conditions and removing the eutrophication at remarkably low cost.
